Why Reglo exists now
Two things have changed at once. Anti-money laundering supervision of law firms is now routine and evidence-led. Desk-based reviews and inspections start with a document request on a short clock, and the questions are about consistency: whether the firm-wide risk assessment, the policies, the training records and the files tell one story. With AML supervision set to move from the SRA to the FCA over the coming years, the standard of evidence will only rise.
The responsibility has not moved. It still sits with a COLP or an MLRO doing the job alongside a full caseload, with a shared folder of policies, a spreadsheet of who has read what, and an inbox of reminders. When guidance changes, somebody has to notice, work out which policies it touches, redraft them, get them approved, chase the firm to read them, and be able to prove all of it later.
At the same time, the technology has crossed a line. A model can now read a policy against the source it relies on, show where the two have drifted, and draft the change with the citation attached, reliably enough to be useful and, more importantly, checkable. The upkeep of compliance has become work that software can carry. The judgement has not, and Reglo is built on that distinction.
How it helps
Reglo takes the upkeep. It watches the regulators and guidance the firm subscribes to, flags what has materially changed, lists the policies it touches, and drafts the update with citations when asked.
It assigns policies and training to the right people by role, runs the comprehension check, and records who attested to which version and when. It reviews files against the firm's own checklist through the case management system, and records every finding and what was done about it.
All of it lands in an append-only audit trail that can be sealed into an evidence pack with a SHA-256 manifest. When a document request arrives, the answer is an export, not a fortnight of reconstruction.
How it is different
Evidence first, not a document store
A document store holds documents. Reglo holds the record of what changed, who approved it, who read it and what was checked, sealed so that it can be verified later.
Grounded, never blind
Drafts are grounded in the sources the firm subscribes to, with citations back to them. Nothing is generated without a source to point at, and no gap is raised without a suggested change attached.
People decide
Nothing becomes a policy version, a submission or a piece of advice without a named person approving it. AI output is advisory, labelled as such, and traceable to whoever accepted or rejected it.
Behind the adviser, not in front
Reglo partners with compliance consultants and does not replace them. The adviser owns the judgement and the client relationship. Reglo carries the upkeep between visits.
One sector, done properly
Law firms first, and deeply: the SRA Standards and Regulations, the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and the legal sector guidance, rather than a generic tool with a legal template on top.
Complete, or loud about it
Monitoring coverage is never silently cut short. If a source cannot be checked, the record says so, because a quiet gap in monitoring is worse than an honest one.

New capabilities are proved on a firm's real policies, with the compliance lead who owns them, before we call them finished. If it does not hold up in front of a COLP or an MLRO, it does not ship.
The adviser stays in charge
Consultants keep the judgement and the client relationship. Reglo carries the upkeep between visits, and the record it keeps is one the adviser can stand behind.
